This is the new cover of Boston magazine. It shows shoes of those who ran this year’s Boston Marathon. You can read more about it here.
It’s the end of April and there is still snow on the ground… grumble grumble. Surely May will be more spring-like, right? Right? I’m optimistic so I’ve complied some races you may be interested in running. The list is non-exhaustive so please let us know if we’ve missed your favorite.
For more races in the Twin Cites, check out our race calendar.

Today I came across a short and easy to follow video of exercises for IT Band issues. If you have Iliotibial band issues (ITBS), you may want to give this video a look. Symptoms of ITBS include:
- Sharp or burning pain on outside of knee when running
- Early on the symptoms will subside shortly after the run has finished but will return with next run
- Eventually the pain may come sooner and persist with walking or using stairs
- Tenderness on the outside of the knee when pressure is applied especially when the knee is bent
If you have these symptoms, or any knee problems, consult with a professional.
The theraband used in the video can be found here on Amazon, or your local running store.
