Twin Cities Races in May

It’s the end of April and there is still snow on the ground… grumble grumble. Surely May will be more spring-like, right? Right? I’m optimistic so I’ve complied some races you may be interested in running. The list is non-exhaustive so please let us know if we’ve missed your favorite.

Exercises for IT Band issues

Today I came across a short and easy to follow video of exercises for IT Band issues. If you have Iliotibial band issues (ITBS), you may want to give this video a look. Symptoms of ITBS include:

  • Sharp or burning pain on outside of knee when running
  • Early on the symptoms will subside shortly after the run has finished but will return with next run
  • Eventually the pain may come sooner and persist with walking or using stairs
  • Tenderness on the outside of the knee when pressure is applied especially when the knee is bent

If you have these symptoms, or any knee problems, consult with a professional.
